Biography
As part of the Balestreri Potocki & Holmes team, attorney Patrick Sebastian helps companies navigate legal disputes on both the plaintiff and defense sides of the aisle. His work is primarily focused on construction litigation, including construction defect matters, contract disputes, and public works projects. His passion for and knowledge of the construction industry aids in his ability to truly understand his clients’ business operations and needs, allowing him to effectively advocate on their behalf.
Patrick’s clients range from large multi-national general contractors to small family-owned independent businesses throughout California. Prior to becoming an attorney, Patrick studied government contract and public contracting law, which prepared him to expertly understand and handle highly nuanced public contracts.
Earlier in his career, Patrick gained courtroom experience through internships with the Office of the Public Defender. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from William & Mary Law School, where he represented the law school as a delegate for the school’s senate, a universal student government body comprised of delegates from the entire university including its undergraduate and business schools. While in law school, Patrick also worked as a Graduate Research Fellow in the Center for Legal and Court Technology, where he conducted research and acted as counsel in mock trials to test technological courtroom equipment advances, including remote juror technology and tablet use by counsel. Before earning his law degree, Patrick earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California. His professional memberships include the San Diego County Bar Association and San Diego Defense Lawyers.
